https://ejournal.seaninstitute.or.id/index.php/JMS/article/view/6426

This study aims to analyze the impact of bank financial health on financial performance using a quantitative method and multiple regression analysis. The research population consists of banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), while the sample is selected using the purposive sampling method, based on the availability of complete financial data. The independent variables used in this study are Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), Non-Performing Loan (NPL), Operating Expenses to Operating Income (BOPO), and Net Interest Margin (NIM), with Return on Equity (ROE) as the dependent variable. The results indicate that NIM has a significant positive effect on ROE, while BOPO has a significant negative effect. Meanwhile, CAR, NPL, and LDR do not have a significant impact, suggesting that capital adequacy and credit risk are more related to long-term stability rather than profitability. The regression model explains 30.3% of ROE variability, with the remainder influenced by external factors. These findings emphasize that operational efficiency and optimal net interest margin management are crucial in improving bank profitability.
Aerlangga Aerlangga

Using multiple linear regression analysis on companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2017 to 2023, the findings reveal that independent commissioners have a significant positive impact on ROA, while capital structure does not significantly influence profitability. The R Square value of 41.5% indicates that capital structure and corporate governance explain only part of ROA variations, with the remaining 58.5% influenced by other factors. These results highlight the importance of strong governance in enhancing financial performance and suggest that companies should focus on transparent and accountable management practices to achieve sustainable growth.
Darul Fahmi, Sawukir Sawukir

https://ejournal.seaninstitute.or.id/index.php/JMS/article/view/6433

Indonesia's constitutional system adopts a bicameral system with the presence of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) as a representation of regional interests. However, the effectiveness of the DPD within the legislative system still faces various challenges, particularly due to its limited authority compared to the House of Representatives (DPR). The DPD only has the right to propose and provide considerations on certain draft laws but does not possess full legislative authority. This study aims to analyze the existence and authority of the DPD within Indonesia's bicameral system, identify the challenges it faces, and offer recommendations for strengthening its role. This study employs a normative method with a legislative and conceptual approach. The findings indicate that Indonesia's bicameral system is asymmetrical, where the authority of the DPD remains far below that of the DPR, differing from the bicameral systems in other countries such as the United States, where both legislative chambers hold full authority. This limitation creates a dilemma in representing regional interests in national policymaking. Therefore, reforming the authority of the DPD is necessary to achieve a more balanced legislative system that reflects the principles of inclusive democracy.
Dani Firlandani, Dian Eka Prastiwi, Tati Karhati

https://ejournal.seaninstitute.or.id/index.php/JMS/article/view/6455

This study analyzes the regulation of wills in Islamic law with a focus on legal and practical aspects. A will is an instrument in the distribution of inherited assets regulated by Islamic law, which has special provisions regarding limitations, recipients and implementation. This study uses a normative research method with a juridical-theological approach to explore the legal basis of wills in the Qur'an, Hadith, and fatwas of scholars. In addition, this study also reviews the practice of implementing wills in Muslim society, including the challenges that arise in their implementation. The results of this study indicate that a will in Islamic law has a significant role in distributing inheritance fairly, especially for parties who are not included in the list of heirs. Based on an analysis of Islamic legal sources, both from the Qur'an, Hadith, and the opinions of scholars, it was found that a will not only functions as a form of social concern, but also as a legal instrument that grants rights to certain individuals without violating the principle of justice in the distribution of inheritance. This study also emphasizes that the implementation of a will must meet certain requirements, such as the existence of ijab and qabul, a maximum limit of one third of the inheritance, and an agreement with the heirs if the amount exceeds this limit. In addition, wills have been proven to have a positive impact in preventing conflict among heirs and ensuring that the assets left behind are used properly in accordance with the principles of justice in Islam.
Tolhah Toha Nawawi

https://ejournal.seaninstitute.or.id/index.php/JMS/article/view/6456

Young voters have great potential to determine the direction of regional policies, but often show low levels of participation due to various factors, such as lack of information, political apathy, and minimal involvement in the democratic process. This study aims to analyze the role of local governments in increasing young voter participation in the 2024 Regional Head Elections (Pilkada). This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods to examine local government strategies and policies in educating and motivating young voters. Data were collected through interviews, document studies, and observations of relevant government programs. The results of the study show that young voters play an important role in the 2024 Regional Head Elections (Pilkada), with high enthusiasm even though their political decisions are often influenced by external factors such as the social environment, mass media , and peers. The lack of political experience makes them vulnerable to unverified information and emotional campaigns. Therefore, the Regional Government needs to increase the participation of young voters by providing intensive political education, disseminating accurate information, and involving them directly in the election process through cooperation with schools, universities, and youth figures. To overcome apathy, it is also important for the Regional Government to ensure that the 2024 Pilkada is carried out with transparency and fairness, so that young voters can make wiser decisions and actively participate in determining quality future leaders
Damay Rusli

https://ejournal.seaninstitute.or.id/index.php/JMS/article/view/6471

Suntalangu village is one of the villages with natural potential that greatly supports its community in improving the economy through the agricultural sector on tobacco plants. This study aims to determine the margin and efficiency of tobacco marketing in Suntalangu village. The analysis used is qualitative descriptive for marketing channels and quantitative on revenue, margin and marketing efficiency (Farmer's Share). The data collection method was carried out with survey samples of farmers/tobacco producers, village collectors/middlemen, wholesalers, e-traders, and end consumers. The results of this study show that there are 4 marketing channels for tobacco marketing in Suntalangu village, East Lombok regency. In pattern I, there are producers, village collectors (middlemen), wholesalers, retailers, and end consumers. Pattern II includes producers, village collectors (middlemen), retail traders, and end consumers. Pattern III consists of producers, village collectors (middlemen), and end consumers. IV pattern from producer to end consumer. The most efficient marketing channel according to the three indicators from the farmer's side is the marketing channel III because the marketing margin is smaller, the Farmer's Share and the value of the profit to marketing cost ratio is the highest compared to other marketing channels. To create efficient tobacco marketing in the long term, it is recommended that farmers participate in partnership activities, because partnerships absorb a lot of tobacco, smooth input and output and can reduce transaction costs. For this reason, the government can facilitate partnership activities, in order to facilitate the partnership process.
Masrun Masrun, M. Ilhamudin

https://ejournal.seaninstitute.or.id/index.php/JMS/article/view/6511

The song "Senja Kala Itu" by Gading Suryadmaja, featured in the album Terlahir Kembali, evokes a nostalgic sentiment surrounding childhood experiences, particularly the relationship between a child and a father. This study aims to uncover the symbolic meanings embedded in the song through a semiotic approach, as proposed by John Fiske. Fiske, renowned for his semiotic theory emphasizing the production of meaning through texts and social contexts, serves as the analytical framework for examining the song’s lyrics. In this analysis, "Senja Kala Itu" is viewed as a text rich in signifiers representing memories and implicit emotions. A qualitative approach is employed, utilizing semiotic analysis based on Fiske’s theory. The analysis of the lyrics, which depict the twilight atmosphere of childhood, identifies symbols such as twilight, roads, and the notion of 'home,' each carrying dual meanings in both social and personal contexts. Twilight, symbolizing the passage of time, becomes a metaphor for longing and nostalgia for a past that cannot be reclaimed. The father’s role as an authority figure and reminder of time, as depicted in the song’s lyrics, reflects a relationship characterized by affection, yet also by a sense of obligation. The portrayal of the father’s command to return home, coupled with the yearning for the past, constructs a broader narrative on childhood experiences, temporal boundaries, and personal growth. The findings of this study reveal that the song transcends mere nostalgia for childhood; it conveys messages about time, responsibility, and power relations within the family. By applying Fiske’s semiotic theory, this analysis demonstrates how the signs within the song’s lyrics function to construct meaning, reflecting social dynamics and offering a new understanding of generational and temporal relationships.
Galih Suryadmaja

This study aims to examine the influence of Net Profit Margin (NPM), Working Capital Turnover (WCTO), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Total Asset Turnover (TATO) on Profit Growth in energy sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2019–2023. The research employs a quantitative approach using secondary data derived from audited financial reports. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling, resulting in 15 companies that met the criteria. Data were analyzed using panel data regression with the help of EViews 12 software. The classical assumption tests confirmed that the data met normality, multicollinearity, autocorrelation, and heteroscedasticity requirements. The findings revealed that DER has a positive and significant effect on profit growth, while NPM, WCTO, and TATO showed no significant influence. These results suggest that effective management of capital structure, particularly through optimized use of debt, contributes meaningfully to enhancing company profits. Meanwhile, profitability, working capital efficiency, and asset utilization alone do not guarantee growth in earnings within the capital-intensive and volatile energy sector. This study contributes to the understanding of financial performance drivers in the energy industry and offers practical insights for investors, managers, and academics in financial decision-making.
Astrid Dita Meirina Hakim, Ahmad Romi Kurniawan Ardianto, Imam Tri Wibowo
