STRATEGY FOR EMPOWERING SUSTAINABLE TOURISM IN THE HORSESHOE REGION, EAST JAVA: ANALYSIS OF POTENTIALS AND CHALLENGES

This study discusses sustainable tourism development in Tapal Kuda, East Java. The study indicates that active participation of local communities is crucial for the success of sustainable tourism development. The development of village tourism should be a priority in Tapal Kuda, as it can promote local culture and heritage and increase the welfare of local communities. Recommended strategies include promoting active participation of local communities, strengthening collaboration and partnerships, and developing training and education programs to improve the skills of communities in sustainable tourism development.
